Where to find your Christmas log this year

As the holidays are right around the corner, I'm sure you didn't have the time to do your Christmas shopping and even less given a thought for doing the groceries if you're the lucky one hosting this year. It's okay, we've all been there. I can't perform miracles, but I can surely recommend you one of the newest and perfect bakeries for your trouble.

If you live in Villeray, you might've heard of it already. Indeed, Boulangerie Jarry has opened its door to the public about a few weeks ago and is getting recognition for their ingenuity. Not only the bakery mills its own flour for their bread and viennoiserie, but their community ethic is what sets them apart.

Now the mastermind behind this little project has many years of experience behind their apron. Indeed French baker Dominique Gauvrit helped with the opening of the first Première Moisson in Montreal (for those who don't know, the latter has become somewhat of an institution and a very successful bakery chain as they count several locations throughout the metropolitan region). Accompanied by Mathieu Chomelet, Richard Mercier, Bobby Gregoire, and Mikael Legentilhomme, the team at Boulangerie Jarry sure bakes like kings and will offer a great selection of products. From the classic bread to special ones made with yellow pea flour, polenta and pumpkin to viennoiseries, sandwiches, quiche, and soups... you'll find everything you'll need.

Also supporting local businesses, Boulangerie Jarry collaborates with a farm located in Baie-St-Paul specializing itself in organic cereals. The latter uses whole flour which makes the product more rich in nutrients. Eating healthier has never been this easy.

Now for the good stuff, get ready to bring home a Christmas log baptized by the baker gods. The yule log is made with chocolate Madeleine, crispy buckwheat chocolate, has camerise compote (little red fruit from Quebec which is essentially a sour blueberry), creamy dark chocolate (64%), buckwheat milk chocolate mousse with buckwheat Chantilly. Yup, drooling yet?
